Handsworth Parish Centre Jubilee Garden Open Day

Sunday the 4th of March, 11.30am to 2pm

Drop in any time to see the site and displays of the plans for the gardens. Meet the team including members of Heeley City Farm who are helping run the project too and give us your ideas. Armed with our first grant, this community growing project is now getting ready to spring into life. The team want the whole community to get involved from the budding junior novices to the well seasoned growers. Help them to make the project blossom into a chance for Handsworth folk to grow fruit and veg and flowers together, making the site an educational resource focusing on horticulture, environment outdoor crafts and healthy eating. Free tea and coffee and seed crafts for the under tens on the day

Handsworth Forum Public Meeting

We hold regular public meetings on the second monday of every month to report to you what we have been doing and to listen to your concerns for the local area. In addition to the regular attendance of your local councillors and police officers, we also invite guest speakers to present information which will be of benefit/interest to you. On Monday March 12th we have the following guest speakers:

Doncaster Prison Service - An interesting presentation on the workings of Doncaster Prison, along with an eye witness account of the recent riots.

Sheffield Park Rangers - an overview of the Sheffield service, their activities and how they are helping to open up access to our green spaces.

Handsworth Bell Ringers - hear a performance from this group and find out more about how to get invovled.

The meetings run from 7pm-8.30pm, and are conducted in a friendly atmosphere. We welcome you to come along whether it’s to listen or to voice opinions.
